Overview
Reverb.ai ("we", "our", "the Service") is a tool that helps students capture and summarise university lecture recordings from Echo360. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
Data We Collect
- Lecture transcripts — captured from Echo360 pages you are already authenticated and enrolled to access. Transcripts are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for summarisation and stored in your personal account.
- Account information — your email address, used solely for authentication via Supabase.
- Extension settings — your dashboard URL and API key, stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API and never transmitted to any third party.
- Usage data — credit usage logs (action type and cost) used to manage your account balance. No browsing history or personal identifiers are logged.
How We Use Your Data
- Lecture transcripts are processed by Anthropic's Claude AI solely to generate summaries for you.
- We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising.
- We do not access any Echo360 data beyond what you explicitly trigger through the extension.
Third-Party Services
- Supabase — database and authentication. Data is stored in a secure, managed cloud database.
- Anthropic (Claude API) — lecture transcripts are sent to Anthropic for AI summarisation. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this processing.
- Stripe — payment processing. We do not store card details; all payments are handled securely by Stripe.
Data Retention
Your lecture summaries and transcripts are retained until you delete them or close your account. You can delete your data at any time by contacting us.
Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access to your lecture data is restricted to your authenticated account only. Echo360 content is only accessible to users who have valid institutional credentials — the extension does not bypass or circumvent any access controls.
